You've started your SUV search, but now you're realizing that there are a lot of amazing options out there for you to choose from. We are here to make sure that you get the latest information on two of the top models in the SUV segment. The first is the 2020 Mazda CX-5, which adds more driver-assistive technologies, reduces noise, and increases torque. The second is the 2020 Ford Escape, which gets you second-row sliding seats, a reduction in weight, and Ford's Co-Pilot360 driver-assistance package as a standard feature. Down below we are going to go more in-depth into these vehicles to figure out which one you should be driving home in. Keep reading to learn more!

2020 Mazda CX-5 Power & Handling

When it comes to the CX-5's engine lineup, there are many great engines to check out. The base option is a 2.5-liter inline-4 that can crank out around 186 pound-feet of torque and up to 187 horsepower. You'll be able to get either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Another available engine is a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-4, which creates 250 horsepower and up to 320 pound-feet of torque. The final available engine is a twin-turbocharged 2.2-liter diesel inline-4, which outputs 168 horsepower, and around 290 pound-feet of torque. There is something for everyone with the 2020 CX-5!

2020 Ford Escape Power & Handling

You will find two gasoline engines offered with the 2020 Escape. The base engine is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost inline-3, which can output around 190 lb-ft of torque, and up to 181 horsepower. Front-wheel drive comes standard, with all-wheel drive being optional. The other available engine is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline-4, which can get up to 280 pound-feet of torque and 250 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard with this engine. The lack of another good engine option is disappointing for the Escape and means that the CX-5 takes this round.

Five trim levels can be found with the Mazda CX-5. The base trim is called Sport, and it comes with a 7-inch infotainment display, automatic LED headlights, a full package of advanced driving aids, 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, and cloth seats. Another trim to consider is Touring, which includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear privacy glass, rear air-conditioning and USB ports, and leatherette and simulated-suede seats. Towards the top of the CX-5's trim level lineup, you'll find the Signature trim. This trim gets you front and rear parking sensors, premium leather seats, a navigation system, real wood trim, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.
