2020 Mazda CX-5 vs Nissan Rogue

Everyone deserves to drive around in an SUV that they feel proud and comfortable in. The journey to that perfect vehicle can be difficult, especially if you don't know where to start. At Pearson Mazda, we want to help narrow down the selection for you to make sure that you understand what options out there are best. The two SUVs we are looking at include the 2020 Mazda CX-5 and the 2020 Nissan Rogue. The CX-5 gets additional driving-assist technology, more equipment for the Sport trim, and solutions to reduce vibration and noises while driving. The biggest thing that has happened to the 2020 Nissan Rogue is that the Hybrid option has been dropped, although you'll still get standard automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assist. 2020 Mazda CX-5 Power & Handling

There are three different engines that you can choose from with the 2020 Mazda CX-5. Front-wheel drive is standard with the base engine, while all-wheel drive comes with the other two options. This base engine is a 2.5-liter inline-4, which produces 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. Next up is a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-4 engine, which gets you 250 horsepower and around 320 pound-feet of torque. The final engine is a 2.2-liter twin-turbocharged diesel 4-cylinder, which can output 290 pound-feet of torque and 168 horsepower. There is an engine for everyone here with the CX-5.

2020 Nissan Rogue Power & Handling

Unlike the CX-5, which gives you three engines, only one single engine can be found with the 2020 Rogue. This engine comes standard with front-wheel drive, although it is available with all-wheel drive. The engine itself is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, which can produce 175 pound-feet of torque and 170 horsepower. The standard transmission is a continuously variable transmission, which is an automatic transmission with no set gears.

You'll also be looking to find out what the Rogue has for a trim lineup and standard features. The base trim here, called S, comes standard with keyless entry, lane-keeping assist, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and automatic emergency braking. Other available features here include a motion-activated power tailgate, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a leather interior, a Bose audio system, a navigation system, and dynamic cruise control.
