What Are Some Engine and Drivetrain Options for the CX-30?

Off the line, the CX-30 comes with a 2.5-liter inline-4 cylinder engine attached to a 6-speed automatic transmission that produces 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. For the drivetrain, front-wheel-drive comes standard while all-wheel-drive is optional. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates an average of 28 MPG for the front-wheel-drive models and 26 MPG for the all-wheel-drive models. Also available is a 2.5L inline-4 turbocharged engine. Using 87 octane gasoline, drivers get 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Using 93 octane gasoline, however, the 2.5L turbo puts out 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.

Exterior and Interior Features

The CX-30 gives off a pleasing sporty appearance from the outside, with LED lighting around the whole exterior. It presents an aggressive front end using narrow pointed headlight assemblies around a sport mesh grille. From the side, the CX-30 creates a muscular yet refined appearance with sharp lines and elegant curves. This look is further enhanced with black trim running along the front and rear bumpers, running boards, and wheel wells. Stepping inside the base trim, drivers and passengers are greeted with cloth or leather sport seating, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, keyless entry, and push-button start. The CX-30 has 60/40 folding rear seats providing 20.2 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats up and 45.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.

Safety Features for the 2021 Mazda CX-30
