Power of the Mazda CX-90 PHEV
Two new powertrains are available for the CX-90, and they are both impressive hybrids. The first engine we need to talk to you about is a turbocharged 3.3-inline six-cylinder that is paired with a mild hybrid assist. The overall production for this engine is around 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque with premium gas. In addition, the mild hybrid system will help improve the smoothness during acceleration while also giving you a slight boost in terms of fuel economy. Optional is a plug-in hybrid, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that pairs with an electric motor to pump out a spectacular 323 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. There is also a 17.8-kWh battery pack which sends a ton of juice to the electric motor. Both engines come standard with all-wheel-drive, which will give you more traction and a sportier feel, and you also get an eight-speed automatic transmission as well.

Once you set foot in the CX-90, you will instantly feel the comfort of the seat cushions. In addition, there is new switchgear which looks and feels good for both drivers and passengers. Another good thing to love is the temperature toggle switches which are easy to move up and down. We should also tell you about the touchscreen, which has grown to 12.3-inches and is one of the largest in the class and it also comes loaded with Mazda's newer infotainment system, which comes with a ton of tech and apps such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If there is one thing that we have to get across with the 2024 Mazda CX-90, it's how upscale it is. The cabin is gorgeously styled and very meticulously crafted, as there is a large digital gauge and driver-information display that will span the area that is located right behind the thick, three-spoke steering wheel. Meanwhile, the infotainment touchscreen stands upright on the dashboard atop the center stack. There are also soft-touch materials that cover the door panels, center armrest, and dashboard.
